Torrell Fernandes has joined Fusion Markets as Head of
Sales. He shared the update today (Wednesday) on LinkedIn. In his post, Fernandes said he
had taken some time away from the brokerage industry to focus on family and
reset. He added that he is returning to the sector with a new perspective.
Fusion Markets Hires Former IG Lead
“What drew me in was the ambition. A company that’s not
only chasing growth, but doing it with intent, bold vision, genuine
collaboration and innovation, and a culture that values people as much as
performance,” Fernandes wrote, commenting on his appointment.
Before joining Fusion Markets, Fernandes worked at IG Group
for nearly five years. He was most recently the Team Lead Manager for Premium
Clients for 4 years.
In that role, he managed the Australian Premium Desk and was
responsible for strategic commercial projects, team leadership, and client
engagement. He reported that one of the commercial projects was projected to
generate an additional AUD 5 million in annual revenue.

Fernandes also led initiatives to improve operational
efficiency and implement change management. He worked on developing team
performance metrics and contributed to culture programs.
Veteran Returns to Brokerage
Earlier roles at IG included Premium Account Executive for
seven months and New Business Consultant for 11 months. Prior to IG, Fernandes
worked at GO Markets in Melbourne as an Account Manager for about a year. His
responsibilities included managing client relationships and generating new
business.
IG Appoints New Head of Operations
Meanwhile, IG
has appointed William Mead as Head of Operations. He previously held
several positions at IG, including Head of Trading Operations and Global Head
of Credit and Client Money, both based in London. Earlier in his career, Mead
worked at Thales as a Bid and Project Manager.
