Sports Sponsorships Have Value
Bitpanda has an extensive presence in the sports arena. It already sponsors Paris Saint-Germain, FC Bayern Munich, AC Milan, and elite tennis players including Stan Wawrinka, Alexander Zverev, and Dominic Thiem, along with other sports events. However, with the latest deal, the exchange’s logo will appear on the shirts of a sports team for the first time.

FC Basel is one of the top Swiss football clubs. As the name suggests, it was founded in 1893 and has a rich sporting history within the country and across Europe. Although the club is not currently playing in the pan-European Champions League, it has a strong chance of qualifying for the 2025–26 season based on its current performance in the 2024–25 Swiss Super League, where it is leading the standings.
FC Basel’s qualification for the Champions League would put the Bitpanda branding in front of a wider football audience across Europe and globally.
In addition to brand visibility, Bitpanda and FC Basel will collaborate on digital fan experiences, creative content formats, and strategic initiatives. Although the announcement does not specify the brand’s social media exposure, any visibility on the club’s online platforms would place the brand in front of a large audience. FC Basel has 1.8 million followers on Facebook, 273,000 on Instagram, and 122,200 on X (formerly Twitter).
